it was at a farmers’ market one day, where i regularly appear with remnant offerings, that a lovely stranger said, “people must often offer suggestions for your work, and i’m sure it’s cumbersome, but…”, and then suggested a backpack version of our drawstring bags. here you are, dear friend. it was a fine idea indeed.
this drawstring backpack is 100% organic cotton, handwoven with a handspun weft (this means about half of the yarn used in the fabric is handspun, and the other half machine-spun) and handspun drawstrings. while the bulk and produce bags are designed to go right on the moving belt at the grocery store, the carry-all is dreamed up as something you can keep with you to hold your essentials. it would, however, make an excellent bag for carrying a few groceries on your back, especially if you’re the type to take your bike to the store. (i speak from experience.) for hikes, bike rides, day trips, overnights, this is the perfect thing to keep all your good things close.

the machine-spun cotton yarn is made from organic cotton grown in the U.S.
the organic cotton fiber we spin into our house-made yarn is grown in north carolina.
